Industrial automation specialist Festo has announced a new cantilever electro-mechanical drive designed to meet the demand of modern production facilities.

The ELGT drive combines precision with high load-bearing capacity and rigidity, making it suitable for small parts and lithium-ion battery manufacturing.

According to Festo, the new solution can be added to existing ranges and offers customers greater choice and a lower-cost solution for cantilever axis applications.

ELGT axes are available in three widths of 90, 120 and 160mm, making the ELGT drive equally suitable for 2D and 3D cantilever systems.

It offers three mounting options: a direct screw connection into a precisely machined and threaded base, adjustable slot nuts that can be slid along the profile body, or brackets for mounting from the side.

Users have a wide range of motor drive options available and the ELGT can be supplied with a choice of stepper or servo motors, or without motors entirely.

What’s the ELGT copper and zinc content is below 1%, which meets the standards of the battery production sector to minimise contamination.
